circa 1900, with 28 1/2in. barrel, full-length matted sighting rib signed 'ROBERT HUGHES & SONS, MAKERS LONDON & BIRMINGHAM' within a panel, provision for adjustable dove-tailed fore-sight (missing), 'Africa' style rear-sight with a standing notch, four folding leaves (one absent) and elevating ladder-sight (also missing), machine engraved slab-sided receiver signed 'HUGHES' to both sides, chequered walnut pistol-grip butt-stock, iron furniture (heel-plate replaced in aluminium), the wrist drilled for peep-sight (missing), under-lever with rolled end, chequered splinter fore-end with moulded horn tip and eyelets for sling
